All students pay a per-credit-hour rate based on how may course credits they take each semester. All students pay the same mandatory Campus Fees. Some students will pay additional per-credit-hour Course Fees depending on whether they are enrolled in online classes or other special circumstances.
The deadline to make a tuition payment is one week before the first day of classes. The semester payment is due in full. Payments received at the Accounting Office by 6:00 p.m. (EST) Monday through Friday will be considered as that day’s business. Allow plenty of time for processing payments. Payments received are applied to the oldest outstanding amount first.

Check: All checks should be payable to Virginia International University and should have the student ID number written on the front. Already endorsed checks are not accepted.
Checks must be payable in US dollars with an intermediary Bank in the US.
Credit Card: VIU accepts payment by VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express. Credit card payments can also be submitted by faxing Credit Card Authorization

1. Late fee: Failing to make any payment on time or before the due date will result in a late fee. The fee equals 0.2% of unpaid balances and is added per day. The late fee percentage will apply only to tuition. Other fees (for example activity fee, technology fee, etc) will be deducted before applying payment for tuition.
2. Return Check Fee: A $30 fee will be charged for each unpaid check returned by the bank. Any additional late fee penalties will be added. VIU will recalculate the late fee daily until the balance is cleared.
Special Cases: In the documented event of prolonged illness, accident, or death in the immediate family (parents, siblings, children, or spouse) or other special circumstances that make it impractical to complete the program, Virginia International University will work toward a settlement that is reasonable and fair to both parties.

Who is Eligible?
The Post-9/11 GI Bill provides financial support for education and housing to individuals with at least 90 days of aggregate service on or after September 11, 2001, or individuals discharged with a service-connected disability after 30 days. You must have received an honorable discharge to be eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
Eligible students are generally entitled to 36 months of benefits. These benefits can include payment of tuition and fees, or a portion there of, a monthly allowance, and/or a stipend for books and supplies.
If you believe that you are eligible for Post – 911 GI Bill benefits, you are encouraged to contact the VA Education Call Center at 1-888-442-4551. You will be able to receive answers to questions that specifically pertain to your case. Eligible students will then be directed to apply for the benefits online though the VA website. Applicants will receive a letter explaining the VA’s decision about their specific eligibility. Applicants who are not eligible will be mailed a letter explaining the reasons for the denial of benefits.
